Join rapper and artist Ric Flo for a series of 12 spoken word and performance workshops. You’ll explore writing songs, poetry and recording your work, and will get the chance to perform in front of a live audience at the Arcola Theatre, London in July.
The Parlour will be an interactive installation consisting of a soundscape of voices, domestic noises and historic sounds, all of which will belong to a particular ‘story of care’ from our timeline from the 1700s. This will be an immersive experience that enables visitors to experience the past viscerally.
A Stitch in Time
Through ‘crafitivism’ we will be creating a protest blanket in partnership with The Foundling Hospital. Girls in the hospital were taught to sew to provide them with a transferable life skill and to set them in good stead when they left the Hospital. The archive contains a number of sewing samplers. Using these and the foundling girls’ daily ritual as inspiration, participants will sew a blanket to impact change in the present and for the future.
