On Wednesday 28 April we’ll be delving into our archive for our first ever Transcribathon.
Join us for a one-day adventure into the history of Coram’s Foundling Hospital, the UK’s first home for children whose mothers were unable to care for them.
We have received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to digitise a major portion of our archive, which shows the everyday life of children cared for at the Foundling Hospital. As part of this project we are transcribing the historic papers, letters and volumes in the archive, so they can be made available for free online.
Join us!
On Wednesday 28 April we are inviting you to join us in transcribing (typing up) these historic documents. You can take part from home whenever you like. Do 10 minutes on your lunch break or dip in throughout the day.
We’ll also be running discussions and a talk about the history of the Foundling Hospital (on Zoom).
To register, sign up for a free ticket.
