Supreme is a Story of Care Ambassador as part of our Voices Through Time: The Story of Care programme. This blog introduces her new video made as part of the ambassador programme.
As part of being a Story of Care Ambassador, I have created a video to empower young people whose voice has been shut out by many systems and not giving them that voice they truly need.
I live in Southwark, London and I am here to empower young minds, especially in care to be the best they can be no matter what. Along the way I will share my experiences and how it changed me. Hopefully it will inspire others to set out and find their calling.
The future is here, it is now and we must empower our young minds now. It’s never too late and I believe with everyone involved for the right reasons and focusing on the foundation that the young minds will find their voice. I’m fortunate to have learnt along the way many life lessons that I am willing to share to young minds, especially those in care and care leavers.
I was once in care and often had to meet with people I didn’t know, who I would never see again, and they were making decisions for my life without my say, which had a negative impact on me.
I had to fight for everything I have today and without the relevant information I got along the way it would have taken me longer and I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m grateful for the lessons I’ve learnt because now I can pass it on to many young minds everywhere.
The process to create this video was pushed back a few times but I finally made it and I enjoyed every moment.
